Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Spain Connect (the "App"), operated by Lothlorien Labs ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Spain Connect.
1. Who Can Use Spain Connect
You must be at least 16 years old to use Spain Connect, and you must be able to enter into a binding agreement. You may only maintain one account, and you may not use the App if we have previously terminated your account.
2. Your Account
You sign in with Google or Apple — we never handle a password of yours. You're responsible for the security of the account you sign in with, and for everything that happens under your Spain Connect account. Tell us promptly at support@spainconnect.app if you believe your account has been compromised.
Keep your profile information accurate. Impersonating another person, or creating a profile that isn't genuinely you, is grounds for removal.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Spain Connect to:
- Harass, threaten, defame, or bully anyone.
- Post or send sexual content involving minors, or anything else prohibited by our Child Safety Standards. We have zero tolerance for this.
- Scam, defraud, phish, or deceive other members.
- Post spam, chain messages, or unsolicited commercial promotion outside the parts of the App intended for it.
- Share someone else's private information without their consent.
- Post unlawful, hateful, or violent content.
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the App or its infrastructure.
Every member can report and block other members from a profile or a conversation. We review reports and may remove content, restrict features, or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
4. Your Content
You keep ownership of the content you post — your profile, photos, messages, job listings, promotions, events, and reports. By posting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely to operate and provide the App. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must retain it for legal, safety, or evidentiary reasons.
You're responsible for the content you post, and you confirm you have the rights to post it.
5. VIP Subscription
Spain Connect offers an optional paid VIP subscription, available monthly or annually.
- Billing. Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), not by us. Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
- Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple or Google account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We can't issue store refunds directly.
- Prices and features. Prices vary by country and may change; we'll give notice of changes as required by the stores. VIP features may change over time as the App evolves.
6. Ask Spain Connect (AI Assistant)
The App includes an AI assistant that answers questions about life in Spain, drawing partly on published Spanish legal sources. Its answers are general information only, generated automatically, and may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. They are not legal, immigration, financial, medical, or tax advice, and no professional relationship is created by using it. Always confirm anything important with a qualified professional or the relevant official authority before acting on it.
Usage is subject to daily limits that differ between free and VIP accounts.
7. Automatic Translation
The App can translate your messages automatically. Machine translation is imperfect and may change the meaning of what you wrote, particularly for less common language pairs. Translated messages are labelled as such. You remain responsible for what you send, and we recommend confirming anything important — prices, addresses, terms of work — in a language both people read confidently.
8. Listings and Third-Party Content
Jobs, deals, events, and scam reports may be posted by other members or collected from public third-party sources. We don't verify, endorse, or guarantee any of it, and we're not a party to any arrangement you enter into with another member or an external business. Use your own judgment, especially where money or personal safety is involved.
9. Suspension and Termination
You can stop using Spain Connect and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect other members — immediately and without notice in serious cases, such as a breach of our Child Safety Standards. Any paid period already purchased is handled under the store's refund policy.
10. Disclaimers
Spain Connect is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any content or translation is accurate.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including, for consumers in the European Union, your mandatory statutory rights.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continuing to use Spain Connect after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings there.
