Child Safety Standards

Effective date: September 10, 2026 · Last updated: September 10, 2026

Spain Connect (the "App") is operated by Lothlorien Labs ("we", "us", "our"). These are our published standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), covering what is prohibited, how anyone can report it to us, how we respond, and how to reach the person responsible for child safety at Spain Connect.

Urgent: if a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In Spain, call 112. Reporting to us is not a substitute for contacting law enforcement.

1. Zero Tolerance

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. The following are strictly prohibited on Spain Connect, without exception:

Violating these standards results in immediate removal of the content and permanent termination of the account, and may be reported to law enforcement.

2. Minimum Age

Spain Connect is not intended for children. The App is for adults in the Filipino community in Spain, and we do not permit anyone under 16 years old to create an account, consistent with our Privacy Policy. If we learn that an account belongs to someone below that age, we remove it.

3. How to Report

Every member can report another member from inside the App, at any time, without needing to contact us first:

Choose "Child safety / sexual exploitation of a minor" as the reason. You can add details, and you can block the member in the same step so they can no longer contact you. Reports are confidential — the reported member is never told who reported them.

You can also report CSAE directly to us by email at childsafety@spainconnect.app, whether or not you have a Spain Connect account.

4. How We Respond

Reports categorised as child safety are prioritised ahead of all other reports and reviewed as quickly as possible, ahead of our standard review times. When a report is substantiated we:

5. Blocking

Separately from reporting, any member can block another member from their profile or from a conversation. Blocking stops contact in both directions: neither party can message the other or send a connection request, and any existing connection is removed. Blocks can be lifted at any time from the blocked member's profile.

6. Legal Compliance

We comply with applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions where Spain Connect is available, including Spain and the European Union, and with the child safety requirements of the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. We cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement and child protection agencies investigating CSAE.

7. Child Safety Point of Contact

Our designated point of contact for child safety matters, including from regulators, law enforcement, and child protection organisations, is:

childsafety@spainconnect.app

For general privacy questions, use privacy@spainconnect.app instead.

8. Changes to These Standards

We may update these standards from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
